Countryside and landscape

The influence of the Normans brought about significant changes in the rural landscape of England. This section looks at the development and uses of a number of landscape features that were either introduced by the Normans or adapted by them. These include: parks and deerparks, forests and chases, warrens, woodland and fisheries.
