Late C18 building, except for the great hall, which is of early C14 date. Under present possessor house undergoing extensive alterations which brought to light a fine timber roof and other interesting features. Dingley sketched the Old Court (1680) seems to have been a long rambling building with many gables & projecting porch. (2) Members of the archaeology section of the Woolhope Club visited the site. Pointers were discussed as to the possibility that the site was once a fortified house. Members also visited the basement under the 14th century hall with considerable stone work, some re used. There is also a deep stone lined well under the hall. (3)
